Details
Largs Lifeboat was paged after Clyde Coastguard received a Pan Pan call from a Fishing Vessel stating that they had gone aground off Innellan. The lifeboat launched and made best speed to the position given by the fishing vessel and after just over 10 mins arrived onscene.
On arrival an initial assessment by the Helmsman found that the Casualty vessel was hard aground and across a rocky outcrop from the Lifeboat, with the weather conditions SE 5-6 with 2 meter swell and the fact that a Helicopter from HMS Gannet had been tasked the Helm decided it best practice to sit off in smoother waters and monitor the situation and wait for the arrival of the helicopter.
On arrival of the helicopter the 3 crew members were winched and taken to the main land, the Lifeboat was then released and was able to return to the boathouse where it was refuelled and made ready for the next service.
