Details
Largs Lifeboat was requested to launch following Clyde Coastguard receiving a Pan Pan call from a yacht stating they had gone aground at Bogany Point on the Isle of Bute. Another vessel called Clyde Coastguard stating that they had the aground vessel visible but due to the depth of water they could not get close enough to provide assistance.
Within 15 minutes of launching the Lifeboat arrived onscene and after assessing the situation it was decided that the lifeboat attempt to pull the yacht free. After a few minutes this was successful and the Lifeboat then took the yacht under tow into Rothesay Harbour were it was moored up safely.
The Lifeboat then returned to station and was made ready for its next service.
