largs Lifeboat paged at 12:28 on 16/11/09
Largs Lifeboat was requested to launch after Clyde Coastguard had received a report stating that a car had entered the water at Ascog Point on the Isle of Bute. After passing the crew list to Clyde Coastguard and asking for a Situation Report the Lifeboat crew were advised that the car infact had not entered the water and as an ambulance was in attendance along with local Police and Coastguard there was no need for the Lifeboat to proceed.
The Lifeboat therefore returned to station where it was hosed down and made ready for the next service call. |

Futher to the launch on 02/11/09 largs lifeboat was once again asked to take part in the search for the missing person at Portencross at 08:00 on 03/11/09.
Whilst en-route to the search area largs Lifeboat was informed by Clyde Coastguard that a possible target had been spotted close inshore to Portencross pier, the Coastguard explained that the shore teams should be able to recover the target but would appreciate if the Lifeboat would still proceed to the area incase it was required.
Once onscene the Lifeboat was asked by the shore teams to stand off the pier incase any assistance was required.
After a short time the Coastguard informed the Lifeboat that Unfortunately a body had been found on the beach in a position that would need no further involvement from the Lifeboat and therefore the Lifeboat was free to return to station.
All the crew would like to pass on their condolences to the family and friends of the casualty. |
