Largs lifeboat paged at 10:10 on 17/04/09
Largs lifeboat were launched to a cabin cruiser thought to be on fire near Inverkip Marina. By the time the L/boat had arrived on scene a work boat from the Marina had the cas vessel undertow. A member of the L/boat crew was put onto the casualty vessel to ascertain what happened, it appeared that in this case it was an engine overheat rather than a fire. Once the vessel was placed on its mooring the lifeboat returned to station and was made ready for the next service call. |

Largs Lifeboat paged at 16:19 on 15/04/09
Largs Lifeboat requested to launch by Clyde CG to a jet skier reportedly in trouble off Lunderston Bay.
Largs L/Boat launched, proceeded to the area and located the casualty with police RIB in attendance. The csaualty was taken from the Police RIB by the l/boat into Inverkip marina whilst the Police RIB took
the jet ski in tow.
The l/boat then returned to Station, wwas refuelled washed down and rehoused.

Largs Lifeboat tasked on 13/04/09 to a yacht in difficulty and drifting onto Horse Island, more details to be added
ILB Launched to report of Yacht which had issued a Mayday as it was drifting onto Horse
Island, Ardrossan.
Casualty vessel taken in tow by another vessel, Clyde CG then stood Largs ILB down.
ILB returned to station refuelled, washed and made ready for service. |

Boat thought to be on fire ( 06 / 09 ) |

Largs Lifeboat diverted from Exercise at 13:08 on 12/04/09 to a Powerboat thought to be on fire at Largs Yacht Haven.
Just after re-launching on exercise following a crew change the lifeboat was requested by Clyde CG to investigate a report of a vessel on fire off Largs Yacht Haven. L/boat proceeded to area and located the vessel. Once alongside the lifeboat removed the remaining two occupants and landed them in the Yacht Haven.
The l/boat then stood by the vessel outside marina until Strathclyde Fire and Rescue were on scene. The lL/boat the towed the casualty vessel into the Yacht Haven where it was examined by the fire unit.
Fire unit indicated that there was no fire onboard rather it was thought that the fault was one of
overheating. The L/B then departed the casualty and continued on exercise returning to the
boathouse at 1445hrs.
Prior to arrival of l/boat, 3 children and 2 adults had been taken off by another vessel. |

Suspected Car in the Water ( 05 / 09 ) |

Largs lifeboat paged at 2115 on 09/04/09
Largs Lifeboat was requested to launch to a Car in the Water at Skelmorlie.
Once the Lifeboat arrived onscene it established that the car was not in water and was actually still on the coast road, a crewmember was put ashore to find out if any further assistance was required, at that time the driver was being checked by Ambulance and Police.
The lifeboat was then stood down and returned to station, was refuelled, washed and made ready for service.
